Prof. V. Balamohandas

Prof. V. Balamohandas is a retired Professor of Management Studies, Andhra University. He became Professor at a record young age of 32 years in 1978. He has an accomplished academic career with many publications (books and research papers), consultancy projects to MRTPC and NTPC, and guidance to 37 Ph.D. scholars. He successfully completed a 3-year term as the Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University. Presently, he is associated with many academic, social, cultural, and spiritual organisations. He is also the Swachh Bharat Brand Ambassador for Visakhapatnam City and President of Gandhi Centre, Visakhapatnam.

Prof. P. Vijaya Prakash

Prof. P. Vijaya Prakash is a retired Anthropologist from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He served university administration in various capacities including as Registrar. He served as Vice-Chairman, AP State Council of Higher Education, and officiated as in-charge Vice Chancellor of Rayalaseema University, Dravidian University, and RGUKT. He conducted independent and joint research projects sponsored by DST, ICHR, ICSSR, MHRD, MoTA, NMDC, NTPC, ONGC, UGC, etc. He interacted with several tribal and caste populations and excavated archaeological sites denoting cultural development. He has published the outcomes of these studies and guided several doctoral students. At present, he is associated with SIDAR and is Vice-Chairman, AP Higher Education Regulatory and Monitoring Commission.

Prof. G. Suryanarayana

Prof. G. Suryanarayana, son of Jaggunaidu, resident of Visakhapatnam (born in 1942), served as Professor of Economics (Distance Education), Andhra University and also as Chairman, Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission, Hyderabad (Combined State). He is currently serving as Adviser, Center for Distance Learning, GITAM University.

Prof. A. Nageswara Rao

Prof. Anipindi Nageswara Rao, M.Sc., Ph.D., is a retired Professor of Chemistry, Andhra University with 37 years of teaching experience. His areas of research are reaction dynamics and radiation chemistry with 42 years of experience. He guided 18 candidates each for M.Phil. and Ph.D. and has 60 publications in international journals. He was awarded the Prof. S.R. Palit prize by the Indian Chemical Society. He served as founder Registrar of Adikavi Nannaya University, Rajahmundry and second Registrar of Krishna University, Machilipatnam.


Prof. T.V.V.S. Reddy

Prof. T.V.V.S. Reddy

Prof. T.V.V. Seetharami Reddy (born 1950) completed his collegiate education at Andhra Loyola College, Vijayawada and obtained postgraduate and doctoral degrees from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam. He had 34 years of post-graduate teaching experience, half of which was as Professor in the Department of Botany, Andhra University. His research interests are Cytogenetics and Medicinal Plants. He guided 34 students for M.Phil. and 13 for Ph.D. degrees, published more than 200 research papers in reputed journals, and authored 19 books. He is a member of 10 professional societies and served as Vice-President of the Society of Ethnobotanists. He served in various administrative roles including Coordinator (UGC-SAP), Special Officer (Examinations), Dean of Examinations, and Director of Horticulture and Gardens. He was on the Academic Senate of Andhra University for 5 years and awarded Best Researcher by Andhra University. He served on public service commissions of Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, and Tamil Nadu and is on the panel of UGC and UPSC.

Prof. S.K.V.S. Raju, former Rector, Andhra University, worked as Lecturer, Reader, and Professor of Economics from 1984 to 2013. He published 20 research papers in journals and seminar volumes, authored two books, was principal investigator for 3 UGC major research projects, and associated with 4 other projects sponsored by UGC and the State Government. He guided 10 Ph.D.s and 4 M.Phil.s. He held administrative positions including Assistant Principal (College of Arts and Commerce), Associate Director, Director of Admissions (AU), and Convener for State Level Ed-CET 2003 and 2008.

Prof. Anitha Rao, Former Dean, School of Law, GITAM University, is a consultant in Academic, IP, ADR, Matrimonial, Succession, and Property Issues with 38 years of experience in teaching and administration. Her key expertise includes Law and Medicine (Surrogacy, IVF clinics, Sperm banks), Family and Inheritance Laws, and Intellectual Property Rights. Notable achievements: Member of Academic Council at Delhi National Law School and NALSAR Law School, Board of Management at GITAM University, and Member of NAAC and Board of Studies at Andhra University. She spearheaded specialized training programs for 35 advocates and public sector officials in ADR techniques and serves as PhD adjudicator evaluating theses and dissertations.

Sri Jasthi Mallikarjundu, popularly known as Balaji, is a builder residing in Visakhapatnam city. He holds an MBA Degree from Andhra University. He is an active member in the family of builders and serves as Managing Director of Balaji Construction Company, which builds residential and commercial complexes. He promoted deep sea fishing business and was involved in infrastructure development for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and Military Engineering Services.

Road Connectivity To Bhogapuram Airport From Visakhapatnam City Issues Of Traffic Congestion, Pollution And Reach Short, Medium And Long Run Possibilities
The development of the new international airport at Bhogapuram, located about 50 km from Visakhapatnam city, is expected to significantly enhance regional connectivity and support economic growth in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh. However, efficient transportation access between the city and the airport remains a critical challenge. This report examines the current road connectivity between Visakhapatnam and Bhogapuram Airport, focusing on issues such as traffic congestion, travel time, environmental pollution, and accessibility. The study highlights that improving connectivity is essential for ensuring the smooth functioning of the airport once it becomes operational. The study was conducted using field surveys and real-time traffic data from Google Maps to analyze traffic patterns along the major corridor from Visakhapatnam RTC Complex to Anandapuram Junction and further to Bhogapuram. Results indicate that congestion is particularly severe at key junctions such as Kommadi, Yendada, Boyapalem, and Anandapuram, where traffic delays significantly increase travel time. On average, it takes more than one hour to reach Anandapuram from the city center, while the remaining distance to the airport requires only about 20–25 minutes, showing that urban congestion is the primary bottleneck. The report also examines environmental conditions along the route and finds that pollution levels are relatively high at several traffic-heavy junctions due to vehicular emissions and construction activities. Air quality measurements reveal increased particulate matter levels, particularly near Anandapuram and the airport construction site. These findings emphasize the need for better traffic management, improved road infrastructure, and environmentally sustainable transport solutions to reduce congestion and pollution. To address these challenges, the study proposes several short-, medium-, and long-term solutions. Short-term measures include synchronizing traffic signals, improving traffic flow at Anandapuram, and introducing frequent airport shuttle buses. Medium-term solutions focus on widening roads and improving public transport connectivity, while long-term strategies include the development of an express highway along the coast, expansion of road lanes, and exploring alternative mobility options such as metro connectivity or sea routes. Implementing these measures will ensure faster, safer, and more sustainable access to Bhogapuram International Airport in the future.
